If you are in for spooky stories Terrell is the right place for that. There are lots of stories here, you can ask a local and they will tell you some fascinating ghost stories.
Most of the people visiting the city prefer to go on a ghost walking tour. Many participants have reported eerie sensations, unexplained sounds, and even sightings of apparitions during the walk.
I’ll share one of the most well-known ghost stories about Terrell that I know. The historic Terrell State Hospital, also known as the Old Sanitarium constructed in the late 1800s, served as a mental health facility for many years. It is said that the spirits of former patients still linger within the walls of the Old Sanitarium.
Numerous reports have emerged from staff members, visitors, and paranormal investigators who claim to have witnessed strange phenomena and experienced chilling encounters while inside the building. Tales of disembodied voices, shadowy figures, and unexplained footsteps echo through the halls.
